A combination of our Jordan Connection and our Syrian Highlights tours offering you the choice of beginning your tour in Cairo. It offers the traveller a 15 Day extravaganza of the ancient and the modern. Jordan with it's wealth of national treasures you will enjoy the desert air in Wadi Rum, the full days trekking in Petra and beyond. Syria has beautiful people, shy yet inquisitive with amazing ancient sites like Palmyra and stunning scenery from North to South.

Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1, CAIRO
Arrive in Cairo and check in to your hotel. No meals

Day 2, MT SINAI
Cross the Suez Canal and travel to the village of St Catherine near the foot of Mt Sinai. (BD)

Day 3, MT SINAI - ST CATHERINE – AQABA
Climb Mt Sinai in time for sunrise. There should be time for a short tour of St Catherine’s monastery before we drive to Nuweiba and cross by hydrofoil to Aqaba.(BD)

Day 4, WADI RUM – PETRA
This morning there is the chance to go snorkelling in the Red Sea. In the afternoon visit the deserts of Wadi Rum and continue to the hidden city of Petra.(BD)

Day 5, PETRA
A full day to explore this magnificent site.(BD)

Day 6, KERAK - MADABA - MT NEBO - DEAD SEA- AMMAN
Crusader castles, ancient mosaics, panoramic views and a visit to the famous Dead Sea. A busy day ends in Amman. (BD

Day 7, JERASH - DAMASCUS
Visit the well-preserved Roman site of Jerash. Later continue into Syria and visit Bosra en route to Damascus. (B)

Day 8, ALEPPO
Travel north to Aleppo. The remainder of the day is free in Aleppo.(BD)

Day 9, ALEPPO
Visit Aleppo Museum, Citadel, and St Simeon's Monastery.(BD)

Day 10, UGARIT - SALADIN – LATAKIA
We visit the magnificent castle of Salah el Din & remains of Ugarit and spend the night in the coastal town of Latakia.(BD)

Day 11, CRAC - HOMS – PALMYRA
Travel via the imposing hilltop crusader fortress of Crac des Chevalier and Homs to the desert city of Palmyra (Tadmor).(B)

Day 12, PALMYRA
Palmyra is one of the world's great historical sites and dates back to the 2nd Century. We have a half day guided tour of this breathtaking ancient city. In the afternoon join our guide for a hike to the hilltop fortress of "Queen Zenobia".(B)

Day 13, DAMASCUS
A morning drive brings us to Damascus. Afternoon visit to the splendid Omayyad Mosque. (B)

Day 14, DAMASCUS
Visit the National Museum. Remainder of the day is free to explore Damascus.(B)

Day 15, DAMASCUS
Tour ends after breakfast. (B)

Please Note: If the hydrofoil service from Nuweiba to Aqaba is not operating we will travel by ferry instead. This may necessitate a change to the published itinerary.
