Tour Overview
Japan is a contrast between ultra modern sophistication as exemplified by the city of Tokyo, and the natural splendour of its mountains that cover approximately eighty percent of one of the most forested countries in the world. We cycle down Japan's highest mountain, Mt Fuji, and past lakes of deep blue in areas rich in natural beauty. Enjoy onsen (hot spring baths), sipping sake, and take in the dramatic mountains and coastline of Japan using the highly efficient train system. Our itinerary finishes in Kyoto, one of the most splendid cities in Asia: here we can enjoy the serenity of its countless temples, relax in its superb Zen gardens, and admire Geishas walking the streets. From Kyoto we make a daytrip to the Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima.
