CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING IN THE EASTERN PYRENEES(Trip #59590)

Tour Overview

Superb track skiing and a flexible programme allowing for guided and independent cross-country skiing
The dedicated ski areas of Beille (1800m) and Chioula (1400m) are two different high altitude plateaux, close to the charming spa town of Ax-les-Thermes. They offer stunning 360 degree views of high peaks with a total of 120 km of varied and beautifully groomed trails. The clearly marked trails vary in length and difficulty, enabling us to provide this uniquely flexible holiday. You can ski independently, with others at your grade, or with our experienced tour leaders, James and Cathy Thompson, who will offer guided ski tours at different levels to help get the group orientated. This system allows you to fulfil your personal skiing aspirations whilst enjoying the camaraderie of a group. The trip is primarily aimed at skiers with some experience, and is suitable for both classic and skating styles, but beginners are welcome and private lessons can be arranged on arrival (at extra cost). Although there is no structured tuition included in this holiday, James is a qualified cross-country ski instructor and will be on hand to offer informal lessons on both classic and skating techniques throughout the week.
