Exploration of the flat-topped Mt Roraima and the Grand Savannah, inspiration for Conan Doyle's 'The Lost World'
The south of Venezuela is dominated by one of the most extraordinary landscapes in the world. The Tepuys are immense table mountains with bare cliffs of red sandstone which tower nearly 3000m above the surrounding grassland and dense jungle, harbouring unique ecosystems with many unusual plant species. Our classic six-day trek tackles the highest and most famous of these, Mt Roraima. We will also see the largest Tepuy (Auyan), and get close up to the world's highest waterfall, Angel Falls.
