Day 6 The waters of these tepuis nourish all of the gigantic rivers, such as the Amazon, the Orinoco and the Esequibo. Anywhere you find land you also find plenty of vegetation, all kind of plants: mosses, cacti and orchids. Here you may see unusual species such as the Oreophynella toad, which looks like a tiny monster and can only be found on the tepuis. After 5 hours of hiking we reach this huge plane at 2600m. We settle underneath a rock.
Day 7 Today we have an exhausting but very interesting day. We will explore the top of the tepuy, walking over rocks and crossing through valleys. The Valley of Crystals is impressive, as are the varieties of orchids and the carnivorous plants. Weather permitting we can appreciate the view of the neighbouring tepuis.
