Tour Overview
Less than three hours flight from London and with a Mediterranean climate, Tunisia is a gentle introduction to North Africa. With a varied itinerary, this trip gives a great insight in to the rich cultural heritage and amazing landscapes that Tunisia has to offer - no wonder the country has so often been chosen as a setting for Hollywood films! We travel from the Mediterranean to the Sahara via the troglodyte caves of Matmata and the amazing Chott El Djerid salt lake. Our time in the Sahara is a real highlight for many. The dunes stretch as far as the eye can see - a real sight to behold! We take a camel ride in to the desert and spend a night sleeping amounst the dunes - truly the best way of experiencing this amazing landscape! The Observer - Ursula Kenny put aside her townie's fear of the great outdoors to trek through the Sahara (21 September 2008).
