Day by Day Itinerary


Day 1
Start Kota Kinabalu; meet primatologist and have slideshow and presentation.

Day 2
Fly to Sandakan, transfer to Sepilok Orang-utan Rehabilitation Centre for morning feeding, return in afternoon for second feeding.

Day 3
Walk through forest reserve, transfer by boat to Sandakan, continue by boat to river lodge.

Day 4
Full day of river wildlife spotting, optional walks and night safari.

Day 5
Transfer by river to the village of Batu Puti, stay in the lakeside eco-lodge. Optional homestay.

Day 6
Full day exploring and learning about the incredible wildlife found here.

Day 7
Transfer to Danum Valley Field Centre where we spend three nights in this pristine lowland forest area. Evening night safari.

Day 8-9
Two full days to explore this wonderful reserve with expert local guides. This region is at the forefront of tropical rainforest research, and is home to gibbons, orang-utans, elephants and hundreds of different bird species.

Day 10
Fly to Kota Kinabalu; end Kota Kinabalu.
