Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1: - San Francisco & Yosemite National Park AreaStart out with a short San Francisco tour including the famous Golden Gate Bridge before hitting the old prospector's trails to the East. They'll take you smack bang into Yosemite National Park. Who says granite isn't as pretty as gold? It makes for memorable eye candy round here, especially the chiselled landmarks, El Capitan and Half Dome. Throw in the colours of sunset, a chilled drink or two and you've got one sure-fire ice-breaker 'though the chances are you're all best of buddies already.
Accommodation: Budget lodging included
Day 2: - Central California
As ever, bonds are cemented out on the open road. Swap stories, tell a few tall tales and share joke or two as you drive south into the states very heart.
Accommodation: Budget lodging included
Day 3-4: - Las Vegas
Time to put those lucky numbers to the test. Not to mention your energy levels in this 24/7 party town. A-list stars swarm here, although breaking the bank may be easier than blagging your way into their swanky celebrity hangouts.
Accommodation: Budget lodging included
Day 5-6: - Grand Canyon Region
Take to the wing and witness monumental red-and-gold striped rock from on high. Or settle for being a mere three quarters of a mile up from the canyon floor: the hiking paths around its vast rim are pretty darn scenic in any case. Nearby Flagstaff's motto boasts, 'they don't make towns like this anymore'. It's a crying shame, because 'Flag' means fun, barrels of it, crammed into casual grills and bars, sociable college haunts and loud live music spots. One other thing, don't leave without a snap of a genuine Route 66 sign.
Accommodation: Budget lodging included
Day 7: - Los Angeles
The City of Angels (and Alisters) greets you in the only way it knows how - sprawling, celebrity-driven and simply electric.
Tour ends in Los Angeles at 17:00 hours.
