Types of Visa and CostAll visas, regardless of duration of stay and number of entries permitted, cost €35. In most circumstances, no fee applies to students, recipients of government fellowships and citizens of the EU and their family members.
ValidityShort-stay (up to 30 days): valid for two months (single- and multiple-entry).
Short stay (31 to 90 days and double- or multiple-entry): valid for a maximum of six months from date of issue.
Transit: valid for single- or multiple-entries of maximum five days per entry, including the day of arrival.

Working Days RequiredOne day to three weeks, depending on nationality.
WarningMost visits to New Caledonia are trouble-free but you should be aware of the global risk of indiscriminate international terrorist attacks, which could be against civilian targets, including places frequented by foreigners.
Tropical cyclones may occur in New Caledonia between mid-December and mid-March.

Health CareNew Caledonia offers a wide range of efficient medical services in both public and private hospitals, and an adequate selection of chemists. Hotels can generally recommend an English-speaking doctor or dentist. Health insurance is advised.
Note1A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from travelers over one year of age arriving from infected areas.
2Travelers arriving from infected areas do not require cholera vaccination and will not be given chemoprophylaxis. They are required, however, to fill out a form for use by the Health Service.
3Typhoid is reported. Visitors may wish to ensure up-to-date polio vaccinations have been administered prior to travel.
