We've been to the top of mountains, to the bottom of seas, and to the ends of the earth. We are adventure seekers, conservationists, enthusiasts, and educators. We've banded together with the common goal of marrying our passion for adventure and experiential travel with our expertise to deliver the most useful and convenient resource for researching and booking your next vacation.
George Deeb
Founder & President
Our Founder & President, George Deeb, was named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2001 for his efforts at iExplore. Since iExplore’s founding in 1999, George has led all phases of the iExplore’s growth from a venture capital backed start-up to a fast-growth division of a multi-billion dollar public company. Along the way, George has raised millions of dollars in start up capital from respected investors, cut strategic affiliate relationships with companies like Expedia, Travelocity, Travel Channel and National Geographic (an early investor in the company), and ultimately negotiated the sale of the company to First Choice Holidays in 2007. George is responsible for all marketing, operating, financial, technology and editorial decisions.
Prior to iExplore, George was a Vice President in the investment banking department of Credit Suisse First Boston, where he was a specialist in consumer retailing, advising companies including The Home Depot and CVS Drug Stores on mergers and acquisitions, financing, and other strategic assignments.
An avid adventure traveler, George created iExplore as a solution to the hardships he encountered in planning and booking his own adventure trips around the world. Of the 50 countries George has visited, his favorite trips include summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro, trekking in Patagonia, hiking in the Mount Everest region of Nepal, viewing wildlife in Southern Africa, archaeological touring in Egypt and expeditioning to Antarctica.
